Emergency protections after near-fatal violence
Survivors should never be discharged from a hospital into homelessness, silence, or further danger. We fight for automatic protections and emergency housing for survivors of high-lethality domestic violence.
Survivor-led research exposing systemic failures and design solutions that last
We document the real-world experiences of high-lethality survivors through case audits, policy reviews, and data to hold systems accountable, and to develop new models for survivor independence, sustainability, and safety.
Accountability when systems fail to act
When protective orders are denied or prosecutors minimize clear threats, lives are lost. We advocate for mandatory reviews, public reporting, and professional sanctions in cases where institutions failed to intervene.
Federal and state recognition of HLMS as a protected category
Survivors with high Danger Assessment scores face unique threats and we are pushing for HLMS to be formally recognized in law, funding, and housing policy.
Confidentiality protections that are actually enforced
Survivors under protective orders or as witnesses are being exposed by law enforcement and the courts. We demand hard enforcement of confidentiality across all agencies, including prosecutorial conduct.
Visibility and dignity for survivors who do not survive
Some women never get the chance to heal. We advocate in their name. HLMS includes posthumous dignity care, final-wish advocacy, and policy change to honor the women who were discharged, dismissed, or disappeared.
